A leaked phone call reveals how the war is being managed by al-Qaeda leaders who control the Libyan capital, Tripoli, and how it is being carried out by other organizations in other cities. This call, dating back to 2014, is between the terrorist Mohammed al-Kib, a leader in the Libyan Fighting Group, and the terrorist Salem Darbi, one of the commanders of the Abu Salim militia, an al-Qaeda branch in Derna. The call concerns the launch of Operation Dignity, led by Field Marshal Haftar. We will hear them plotting to shoot down a military plane full of Libyan soldiers coming from Tripoli to support the Libyan army’s operations in Benghazi. They also demand the silencing of media figures who support the Libyan army and the publicizing of the names of those who support these organizations. This leaked call clarifies the reality of the conflict in Libya and exposes the extremists, terrorist groups, and the role of al-Qaeda in it.
Even now, the destructive media machine and the flow of funds from Tripoli continue unabated.
